  Fiber goods

Working with their fiber is one of the great pleasures of raising alpacas.  It's soft, lustrous, durable, warm and wonderful to handle.  We shear our alpacas in the spring and send their fiber to mills to be spun into yarns and roving.  Some of the yarn is used here on the farm for handcrafted hats, rugs and other knit or woven items.  We plan to convert a shed into a small farm store next summer, to be open on Saturday afternoons in the fall of 2012.  Otherwise, I'll be taking our products to several sheep and wool festivals and local craft fairs.  If you'd like to be kept posted as to when and where, please let me know by clicking here.  We also offer a few other alpaca products - throws and mini teddy bears from Peru, and socks made by Dahlgren and Creekwater.  For more information or directions to the farm, call Jamie at 603-756-3410 or email jamie@sanctuarysalpacafarm.com.  Thank you for your interest!  Shipping at cost.

yarns ~

Most of our alpacas are white, some shades of fawn and brown.  Therefore our yarns are white or natural heathers ranging from light honey color to dark taupe.  We sort the raw fiber into batches of consistent length and micron to ensure quality of yarn.  Availability of color and yarn weight varies from one batch to the next.

Dahlgren socks ~ zone construction with alpaca added to merino in heel and toe for warmth and cushioning

Creekwater socks ~ 90% alpaca; luxuriously soft and warm

$17 a pair or two pairs for $30

felted hats ~ hand knitted and felted.  Very warm and soft.  Best tried on in person, because they don't stretch like knitted hats.

rugs ~ ideal for those chilly spots in the home where soft and warm is a treat for bare feet.  100% alpaca with linen warp, hand woven on the farm.
